WorldWide Drilling Resource, Inc., began as a dream of founder Veronica I. "Ronnie" Jones. She spent several years working in the industry representing prominent magazines and earned a reputation as a fair-minded, trustworthy individual with the drilling industry's best interest at heart.
Her roles in magazines such as the former National Drillers Buyers Guide; National Ground Water's Drilling Marketplace; and her own company, International Drillers' Choice (as USA representative for Australasian Drilling and GeoDrilling International) were varied and gave her a broad grasp of the entire drilling industry.
Feeling a desire to help each area of drilling with a special magazine focusing on the drilling professional and their needs, she went forward with the help of several investors and incorporated WorldWide Drilling Resource, Inc. on September 3rd, 2003.
The company began with only three employees, no database of subscribers, no advertiser base, but many, many contacts from her years working with the wonderful people in the drilling industry. This was the gateway to the now over 30,000 subscribers who welcome WorldWide Drilling Resource® into their living rooms, offices, and rigs each month.
Subscriptions to WorldWide Drilling Resource® are FREE thanks to the support of manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors worldwide. The advertiser base continues to grow as each new issue unfolds and the magazine continues to be distributed the world over.
The Web site, www.worldwidedrillingresource.com, has become a top search with google and brings many new subscribers from parts of the globe never thought of before! The number of trade events covered by WorldWide Drilling Resource® at present is 38 - and growing continually. At the majority of those events the WWDR Team (with the symbolic red jackets) is readily identified. The staff has grown to eight, and many ask, "How can eight people do all that?" It’s through the dedication of each and every one of us to provide the best service possible.
Keeping up with new developments, the WWDR Team is continually updating and adding to its magazine to better serve the drilling industry. Safety became a major focus in 2009, prompting the WWDR Team to donate a special section of the magazine just to Safety.
According to Ronnie, the future looks very bright for this up-and-coming young company. With the continued support of its terrific advertisers, avid readers, camaraderie with the local, state, national, and international associations, knowledgeable and experienced writers, and wonderful, hard-working staff, there is no telling what impact this dream will have on our industry and the drilling professionals who make this their life's work.
